It is possible to use sealants and rubber fittings to keep the system however, at Tampa Roofing, all of the metal roofs are designed with mechanical fittings. Once the roof is installed and water tight, there are no fittings to wear out. All of the flashings are designed to be mechanically watertight, and not wear out.
All of our panels are made by us, with our German manufactured Quadrell roll forming computerized rolling machine. All of the panels are made to perfection specifically for your roof. All of the detail metals are made from the same metal lot that the field metal is made from to insure the exact color match.
We can install panels with exposed fasteners, but we can manufacture our own seamless standing seam panels so competitively it’s difficult not to step up to the improved design of a seamless, standing seam system. The bottom of the panel is locked to the perimeter metal to prevent wind uplift or lifting that will occur with systems that are face fastened.
By having hidden fasteners, you prevent having the neoprene washers wear out, and replacing all the fasteners in 8 to 10 years. By having hidden fastener clips that have been tested to meet high wind zone specifications, you never have to worry about losing your wind uplift performance in 10 years the way asphalt shingles and exposed fastener roofing systems do because there are no wearing parts.
With hidden clips, the panels are allowed to expand and contract without fear of backing out the fasteners the way fasteners that have been face fastened have.
There are many materials that standing seam roofs can be designed with. Many materials such as copper and stainless steel will not come with warranties, but will perform for extremely long time periods. There are heavy steel, aluminum, and galvalume products that will last 25 year and longer warranties on the coatings and sealants alone. If maintained, this can be extended for very long periods also. All waterproof warranties on standing seam roofs will come from the installer.
